摘 要:Recent clinical studies have displayed that the homeostatic proliferation of CD4+ T cell is one of the major drivers of HIV infection and persistence, since the replenishment of target T cells offers more chance of being infected with free HIV viruses. We propose and study several HIV infection models with the CD4+ T homeostatic proliferation, which can induce very rich dynamics, such as saddle-node bifurcations, supercritical and subcritical Hopf bifurcations, saddle node bifurcations related to periodic orbits, and Bogdanov Takens bifurcations and so on. Besides, we fit the dynamical model to clinical data on long-term CD4+ T cell counts before and after treatment. Our findings emphasize the critical role of CD4+ T cell homeostatic proliferation in HIV infection and persistence despite treatment, providing valuable insights for understanding disease progression and developing more effective therapies, potentially towards eradication.
